Summer camps at PA!

This summer Providence Academy Athletics hosted three different Athletic Camps: basketball, soccer, and flag football. All camps were for students in grades k-8th, with many students participating in multiple camps.

Basketball camp took place June 1st – June 4th, highlighted by daily instruction from the Providence Academy Basketball Staff which features University of Tennessee Alum Damon Johnson (Head Coach) and former Oak Hill Academy Basketball Coach, Michael Burns (Assistant Coach). This year current and former Providence Academy Basketball players assisted and led various stations throughout the day.

Soccer camp took place June 7th – June 10th with daily instruction from current Providence Academy Boys’ Soccer Coach, Michael Cash and Varsity Girls’ Soccer Coach, James Herington. With age-appropriate stations, every student was challenged in a supportive and fun environment. Just like with basketball camp, the favorite station seemed to be the popsicle station.

Flag Football Camp will be taking place July 12th – July 15th. This will be the first ever flag football camp at Providence Academy. Students will be divided into appropriate age groups and then taught the fundamentals of the game. Each group will also put the lessons into practice with daily games. This camp will lead into the first ever Providence Academy Flag Football League.

With these young athletes dedicated to getting better, the future is bright for Providence Academy Athletics.
